 Some people just don't want to learn to text from a cell phone, still others don't have the service or capability. But that doesn't mean you can't communicate with people who do text. If you have Internet access on your computer, you can send text to a cell phone and it doesn't cost a dime. Here's how: 1  Choose a search engine There are many websites that offer SMS text to mobile phone services. I chose SMS Everywhere because you don't need to know the recipient's cellular provider (Cingular, Sprint, AT&T, etc) or register for an account. 2  The required information is minimal Enter the complete phone number of the recipient you wish to send SMS text, including the area code. 3  The convenience of a full keyboard Enter text in the message box. The site I chose has a 150 character limit which is fine because there is no limit on the number of texts I can send with it. 4  Agree to the terms of use by clicking "SEND NOW". 5  You will receive a confirmation message and the sent text will arrive on the recipient's phone promptly. |
